Cabine Objects are pinched and shaped like sculptural pieces. Once formed, they are slowly dried to prevent warping, then sponged to refine the form. When dry, each piece spends 24 hours in the kiln for a bisque firing at 1800°F. After cooling and removal from the bisque fire, they are gently hand-sanded and sponge-bathed. The art is approached in a painterly manner. Careful mark-making balances the playful intention behind each work of art. The base is hand signed, the piece is glazed and then fired in a glaze fire for another 24 hours at 2300 degrees F. A third firing occurs after an application of the 22k gold bijoux detail.
